Location: Marietta, GA
Overview: We are seeking a Charge Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) who will plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations of a specific shift. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining communication with physicians and administrators, and ensuring optimal patient and family‑centered care.

Hours:
10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. No weekends, holidays, or on‑call requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the shift team, ensuring effective communication and patient care.
- Serve as the primary link between nursing staff, physicians, and unit administrators.
- Develop and implement unit protocols to improve outcomes and efficiency.
- Complete daily risk management, unit management, and employee conference reports.
- Maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as an arbitrator in conflict resolution and a mentor for less experienced nurses.
- Participate in regulatory review preparation and budget planning.
- Support educational programming and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
- Evaluate resource utilization and cost containment activities.
- Coordinate unit staffing to meet patient needs.
- Identify managerial problems and implement improvement plans.
- Assist in budget planning and staffing schedule coordination.
- Ensure educational requirements are met through scheduling and support.
- Promote open, candid communication among staff.
- Model effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Serve as an arbitrator for conflicts between nursing staff.
- Advocate for patients and nurses, addressing customer concerns.
- Refer escalated patient issues to Unit Director or Patient Advocate when necessary.
- Challenge and improve unit and hospital‑wide systems.
- Implement innovative approaches to meet patient and family needs.
- Provide educational programs and in‑service training on leadership and clinical topics.
- Disseminate evidence‑based practice information.
- Meet all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments.
- Complete required contact hours per the Clinical Lattice point system.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
Experience: Minimum two years of recent RN experience, including at least two years in a PACU or related setting.
Licensure: Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS);
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required for certain departments. Additional certifications may be required based on specialty.
Advanced
Education:
MSN or DNP.
