Project Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night Shift 6:45pm-7:15am

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity surgical environment. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong independent judgment, and the ability to function effectively in a large Level I Trauma Center. The OR RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative continuum.

• Provides direct perioperative nursing care in accordance with established standards, policies, and physician orders.
• Prepares operating rooms, verifies equipment and supplies, and ensures readiness for complex surgical procedures.
• Assesses patients preoperatively, maintains patient safety intraoperatively, and ensures continuity of care postoperatively.
• Demonstrates strong expertise in vascular and endovascular surgical procedures, supporting complex cases.
• Maintains strict adherence to sterile technique, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
• Accurately documents all perioperative care activities in the electronic medical record.
• Responds effectively to emergency situations and trauma cases in a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment.
• Participates in on-call coverage, weekend rotations, and holiday assignments as required.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary surgical team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintains high performance standards as evidenced by strong ratings across all areas of the skills checklist.

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Prior travel RN experience in a large Level I Trauma Center (must be clearly documented in work history)
• Strong vascular and endovascular OR experience (required)
• Demonstrated high proficiency with perioperative skills and competencies
• Ability to perform effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment
