American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-acuity Med/Surg Surgery Trauma unit requiring prior specialty experience and GA or compact RN license.

• Night shift position, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• High acuity Surgery Trauma floor within a Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit supported by Nursing Support Techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretary
• ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff process
• EPIC EMR experience required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No block scheduling available; must work assigned shifts
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

• Active GA or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg or trauma specialty required
• Experience in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments required
• Background managing critical, fast-paced, large-scale trauma cases required

• Provide nursing care for high-acuity surgical and trauma patients
• Work within a Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume cases
• No RTO permitted during contract
• Mandatory holiday coverage: either Thanksgiving Day or the day after, plus either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
