MCO Homecare Services LLC is seeking an experienced Georgia-licensed Registered Nurse to provide authorized in-home nursing assessments and skilled nursing visits.
An immediate Atlanta-area need may include draining and monitoring a tunneled pleural catheter, such as a PleurX catheter. The RN must have relevant hands‑on experience or documented competency with this procedure. All services must be performed according to current physician orders, the approved plan of care, manufacturer instructions, infection‑control standards, and agency authorization.
Responsibilities:Complete initial and follow‑up nursing assessments
Drain and monitor a tunneled pleural catheter as ordered
Use sterile or aseptic technique and follow infection‑control procedures
Assess the catheter site, drainage characteristics, client tolerance, and respiratory status
Perform authorized wound care and dressing changes
Monitor the client’s condition before, during, and after each procedure
Recognize and promptly report complications, abnormal findings, or changes in condition
Communicate with the agency, client, family, physician, and other authorized healthcare professionals
Provide appropriate client and caregiver education
Complete accurate clinical documentation within agency deadlines
Clock in and out through Well Sky for assigned visits
Perform only services supported by the RN’s training and competency and authorized by MCO
Current, unrestricted Georgia RN license or qualifying multistate license
Experience with home‑care or home‑health nursing assessments
Wound‑care experience
Relevant experience or demonstrated competency with tunneled pleural catheter drainage
Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification
Current TB clearance
Current physical or health clearance
Professional liability insurance
Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
Reliable transportation to clients’ homes
Ability to pass required background and employment screenings
Ability to work independently and complete timely clinical documentation
Previous experience with PleurX or similar tunneled drainage catheters
Home‑health, pulmonary, hospice, oncology, or post‑discharge nursing experience
Familiarity with Well Sky or another electronic visit‑verification system
Availability for recurring visits when ordered
Spanish‑speaking or bilingual ability
The nurse must review the physician’s orders and approved plan of care before providing catheter drainage or wound care. No visit, schedule, or number of hours is guaranteed. Assignment approval depends on the final service authorization, verified competency, completed credentialing, client availability, and MCO Homecare Services LLC’s written approval.
