Job Summary

We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our close-knit team here at Southwest Veterinary Clinic. We are rooted in the heart of southwest Atlanta, we take pride in serving our community with warmth, respect, and excellence in care. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with our veterinarian and support team to provide high-quality medical care and comfort to every patient who walks through our doors.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with surgeries and procedures, coordinating daily patient care, and monitoring recovery with compassion and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the doctor with restraint and treatment of patients
  • Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
  • Take vital signs and acquire blood samples
  • Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery
  • Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
  • Keep accurate patient records
  • Assist with administering vaccines
  • Prepare surgery rooms
  • Enter services rendered in computer
  • Run lab tests and record results
  • Perform other duties that the doctor assigns
  • Clean treatment, exam, surgery and lab areas daily
  • Fill and refill prescriptions
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
  • Assist with receptionist duties
  • Scheduling appointments
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of animal care and handling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
  • Patience and a love for animals
