Groundskeeper, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Cherokee Town & Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking to hire a Full-Time Greenskeeper to assist in maintaining the golf course and upkeep of the grounds on our North or South Course. A Greenskeeper is primarily responsible for assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds.
Position Types- Greenskeeper I:
Full-time year-round position. - Greenskeeper II:
Full-time position from April through November, with a mandatory requirement to work Friday through Sunday. Walking mowing skills are essential. - Greenskeeper III:
Full-time or part-time seasonal position, with a mandatory requirement to work every other weekend. Walking mowing skills are essential.
Greenskeepers are responsible for learning and understanding the full layout of the golf courses while safely operating utility vehicles, carts, and large maintenance equipment. They perform bunker maintenance using hand tools or mechanical equipment and use various small power tools and hand tools for daily tasks. Responsibilities also include mowing tees and greens with walking and riding mowers; mowing fairways and roughs with large multi‑blade riding machines;
and rolling greens with mechanized rollers. Greenskeepers assist with landscaping projects such as planting and sod installation, operate walk‑behind aerifiers, and properly apply pesticides and fertilizers as needed. Additional duties may be assigned to support course upkeep and maintenance.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at a time without injury.
- Ability to work outdoors and potentially in inclement weather.
- Ability to traverse the property of the Town and Country clubs and walk 6+ miles a day.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of golf course maintenance.
- Experience with plant survival, planting, cultivating, caring for trees, flowers, shrubs, and turf in the Southeast.
