Location: Downtown Atlanta Campus

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The Building Services Department is seeking (1)
Groundskeeper I to join the already awesome team, taking the Building Services Department to the next level of excellence!

• Perform entry‑level groundskeeping and landscape maintenance duties.
• Learn proper methods and procedures needed to complete the assigned tasks and become familiar with the Georgia State University (GSU) campus at this training level.
• Care for the campus grounds, including mowing lawns, watering flowers and shrubbery, trimming trees and bushes, etc.
• Walk the assigned campus area, collecting and removing trash from campus grounds.
• Plant trees, flowers, and bushes; rake and bag leaves.
• Spray lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
• Operate groundskeeping and maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and pressure washers for cleaning campus fountains, outdoor furniture, and other campus areas.
• Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Assist in plant setups in designated areas for special meetings and events.
• Assist in inclement weather duties as assigned, such as clearing snow from sidewalks and other campus areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid GA driver's license

Preferred Hiring

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in groundskeeping, such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, shears, trimmers, etc.
• Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
