Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Materials Specialist to oversee and manage all aspects of materials procurement, inventory control, and distribution across complex projects. This role is critical to ensuring materials are sourced cost‑effectively, stored safely, and delivered on time to support project execution while maintaining the highest standards for quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end‑to‑end procurement of materials, ensuring cost efficiency, quality assurance, and timely delivery to support project schedules.
• Maintain a highly organized and efficient inventory system for materials, tools, and equipment, utilizing advanced inventory control and tracking practices.
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate and allocate materials to project teams based on schedule and scope, ensuring availability while minimizing waste and inefficiencies.
• Maintain detailed records of procurement, inventory levels, and material distribution.
• Prepare regular status reports and track key performance indicators related to materials usage, costs, and availability.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Support development and ongoing management of materials‑related budgets.
• Monitor spending, forecast needs, and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Proactively address complex materials‑related challenges, including availability constraints, quality issues, and distribution delays.
• Implement innovative solutions to minimize disruptions and improve overall materials management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in materials procurement, inventory management, and supply chain coordination, supporting complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction‑related materials, tools, equipment, and building supplies.
• Advanced proficiency in inventory control, real‑time tracking, auditing, and inventory optimization.
• Demonstrated success managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, tracking supplier performance, and controlling procurement budgets.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of implementing effective, scalable solutions.
• Proficiency with materials management software and digital tools for tracking, reporting, and process optimization.
