Staff Architectural Historian

The History Department of Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) is soliciting applications for the position of Architectural Historian in our Atlanta (Smyrna), Georgia, office.

• undertaking research on a variety of historic resource types
• conducting field surveys to identify historic resources
• evaluating resources for National Register eligibility
• preparing reports on historic resources pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and subsequent amendments

• Strong working knowledge of American architectural types and styles
• Understanding of how to apply the National Register evaluation criteria to historic resources
• Experience photographing historic resources
• Exceptional research, writing, and editing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work on simultaneous tasks while meeting project deadlines and adhering to project budgets
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks
• Willingness to work in a collaborative office environment
• Ability to communicate directly with a variety of clients in the public and private sector
• Ability to travel overnight, as needed, for fieldwork

• Working familiarity with Federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines (beyond the National Register) governing cultural resources

Compensation Range: $55,000.00 - $82,000.00

EPEI offer a competitive salary, which will be negotiable based on work experience. Our full compensation package includes paid personal time off; paid holidays; medical/dental, life/disability insurance; and 401K plan.

This is a full-time position, not a project appointment, and is scheduled to begin immediately.
