Provide sales opportunities by calling on various buying influences in a defined territory. Meet sales and quote goals set by management. Partner and provide inside sales support functions for Direct Outside sales team and agencies. Suggest alternative products and services as necessary, collaborate with matrix partners, and maintain ongoing relationships with key customers. Understand and utilize BSF (Better, Stronger, Faster) tools and practices daily.
Seek opportunities to increase revenue.
- Increase revenue by meeting sales goals; make outbound calls and negotiate products, services, and pricing.
- Drive process improvements using RCCM and Daily Management.
- Initiate RFIs and RFQs in coordination with Direct Outside sales team and agencies.
- Communicate with project players: electrical contractors, distributors, agents, and specifiers.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with internal and external customers.
- Maintain customer documentation within Agile and Salesforce.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering (SWAT), and Services on customer needs.
- Participate in on-site visits with Direct Outside Sales at key customers.
- Create and negotiate quote pricing to close business.
- Collaborate with Direct Outside sales team, AQD, and Product team.
- Create Acuity specification sheets for submittal packages.
- Coordinate with DAS and design simple lighting applications.
- Generate Bills of Material.
- Submit medium/high quotes as agent/sales rep.
- Provide frontline technical support.
- Enter RFDs for custom products/options approvals.
- Handle Request for Warranty Deviations (RFWD) with legal, finance, and product teams.
- Ask Design Layout and Controls team for verification of lighting levels and Bills of Material.
- Quote customer samples and accommodations.
- Use Acuity Business System (ABS) Tools for daily task management.
- Apply lean principles to eliminate waste and boost productivity.
- Mentor new team members on strategy, partners, processes, and software.
- Train all team members on new or enhanced strategies, policies, and software.
- Associate's or Technical Degree, or equivalent, 3–5 years in commercial lighting/electrical distributor/General Contractor industry.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; quick to learn new software tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of lighting systems products and services.
- Independent and team-oriented; inclusive environment contributor.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills; sound judgment.
