Environmental Laboratory Analyst – Contract Assignment

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm looking for an experienced Environmental Laboratory Analyst for a contract assignment in Atlanta, GA.

• Work safely, identify and implement corrective actions for unsafe working conditions.
• Receive and log samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for analysis.
• Prepare inorganic and organic samples for analysis using EPA and ASTM methods, including preservation with acid and other procedures.
• Order and maintain appropriate sample bottles and containers for environmental sampling.
• Perform routine laboratory housekeeping and assist Laboratory Analysts as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous administrative duties such as supply inventory, ordering, and data entry review.
• Support customers with sample container orders, coordinate sub-outs, and ensure accuracy and clarity of requested analysis.

• Education:
  
  Some college preferred (science-based studies preferred).
• Experience in a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) or a highly regulated laboratory environment preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume Sample Receiving department.
• Wet chemistry experience preferred (pH, ammonia, alkalinity, turbidity, etc.).
• Experience handling and preparing environmental samples according to EPA, ASTM, or other protocols.
• Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and laboratory software.

• Safety glasses, long pants, closed-toe shoes, and neoprene gloves (as needed).

• May require bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.
• Requires personal protective equipment.
