Security Officer.
Responsibilities- Act as a highly visible deterrent and maintain a positive, professional demeanor, deterring criminal activity.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Notify supervisors and on‑site client staff of any irregularities, suspicious activities, security breaches, and safety hazards.
- Write and submit standardized reports that are prompt, professional, and accurate relative to incidents; submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.
- Patrol and observe interior and exterior areas of client properties in person or via surveillance systems to identify suspicious or unusual activity and investigate as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations according to Tarian and client policies & procedures.
- Coordinate and assist first‑responder response to the client site and assist first responders while they are on site.
- Apply policies and procedures appropriately based on existing circumstances.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; some college education desirable.
- Must have reliable, unrestricted transportation; many shifts or locations are not accessible by public transportation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to work legally in the United States.
- Must be flexible and able to work traditional and nontraditional hours as determined by the event or circumstances.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality required; must comply with all directions and instructions from Tarian and client staff.
- Energetic and focused personality with initiative, ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, and manage deadlines.
- Professional, articulate, and use good independent judgment and discretion with team members, clients, client staff, and all persons encountered on client sites.
- Must authorize and submit to background investigation, reference verification, previous employer verification, and pre‑employment drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Ability to write effective and concise reports in Tarian's mobile reporting tool.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
For applicable roles, previous employment must be verified through our background vendor. If employment cannot be confirmed, candidates may be required to provide proof such as pay stubs or W‑2s.
Working Conditions- Must always be alert and observant.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.
- Long periods of walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Self‑motivation and ability to work independently of immediate supervision.
