On Call Utility Security Officer – Atlanta Area

Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $19.00/hr

BOS Security is now reviewing resumes for an on‑call utility security officer position in the Atlanta area. Must have flexibility and open availability for last‑minute shifts. The position will be part‑time with a possibility to work full‑time hours.

Any day during the week, including weekends. Position covers unexpected callouts.

• Trained and qualified to work assigned post; understands specific and general post instructions and emergency directives.
• Patrol buildings and grounds on foot.
• Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine security status.
• Warn violators of infractions (loitering, smoking, prohibited articles) and apprehend or expel individuals engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
• Inspect equipment and machinery for tampering.
• Notice and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unattended security doors.
• Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of client property.
• Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property.
• Register at watch stations to record inspection times.
• Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctions for supervisory staff.
• Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at access points to maintain orderly flow.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Preferred:
  Security, law enforcement, military, or related experience and/or training.
• Stable work history.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening test and a background check; subject to random drug testing.
• Must have: smartphone, valid driver’s license, own vehicle, clean driving history; able to travel up to 50 miles one way to work.
