Responsibilities& Qualifications
Novelis is seeking a Security Operations Lead. The person in this role will report to the Head of Global Security and be a member of the organization’s broader Legal Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a comprehensive, enterprise-wide security and risk management strategy aimed at protecting Novelis’ global operations and assets. This role will engage with all aspects of Novelis’ global security program, including the management of physical security systems, travel security platforms, crisis management and business continuity planning.
This is an important role requiring: leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively and independently, phenomenal customer service, and, at times, around-the-clock responsiveness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the global security program and support alignment with corporate objectives to protect people, facilities, and assets.
- Proactively analyze and collect intelligence using a broad network of security resources and share that information with colleagues and internal partners in an effective and timely manner to mitigate risk.
- Maintain and continuously improve upon team processes, policies and practices to counter evolving threats to Novelis’ people and assets.
- Leverage tools and information to ensure that traveling employees are safe and informed at all times.
- Develop and implement security plans for special company events and situations.
- Participate in and serve as a leader for all tasks performed by the global security team, including site security assessments, crisis response, continuity planning and executive protection (among other duties as assigned).
- Manage relationships via regular touchpoints with critical service providers to improve contract value and vendor performance.
- Lead and support enterprise‑wide security platforms that include access control, intrusion detection, duress, and video surveillance.
- Support and give to the company’s C‑suite executive protection program as needed.
- Implement and lead enterprise‑wide initiatives including emergency drills, first aid training, active threat and assailant training, behavioral threat assessments, policy development, and employee security awareness training as assigned.
- Research, supervise and assess websites, online discussions, chat rooms, message boards, talkbacks, and other forums to uncover and remediate issues impacting the company, its assets, employees, brand, customers, and reputation.
- Support corporate investigations in areas such as compliance violations, employee misconduct, code of conduct violations, fraud, theft, property damage, and other internal or external affairs.
- Provide internal subject matter expertise on personnel issues and background checks, business and travel risks, cybersecurity issues, investigations, physical security issues, and other security issues related to current world and local affairs.
- Collaborate with and expand Novelis relationships with law enforcement agencies and other corporate security peers and contacts.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience to enterprise corporate security.
- Deep prior experience with crisis response, emergency preparedness and operational continuity.
- Operational experience and proficiency with surveillance systems and access control (Ccure 9000 and Avigilon preferably).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as:
Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law Enforcement or a related field. - Strong risk assessment and threat analysis skills.
