• Perform high‑level troubleshooting of fire alarm systems of all makes and models.
• Perform complex programming of FA systems.
• Survey sites for FA system upgrades and new installations; identify needs to bring system up to code.
• Conduct intermediate level calculations, including battery sizing, NAC panel, and system standby.
• Create redline drawings for as‑built preparation.
• Troubleshoot complex networked fire alarm/mass notification systems.
• Develop PITCO plans and lead the PITCO process.
• Create submittal packages for permits.
• Develop as‑built drawings.
• Lead installation projects for FA system upgrades and new installations.
• Supervise and train crew members on‑site.
• Use tools/software: MS Office Suite, SharePoint (Battery Sizing, Voltage Drop), Silent Knight FA programming, keypad programming for various FA systems, Bluebeam.

• Education & Experience:
  
  HS Diploma/GED required with 8 years of experience in Fire Alarm, or 2 years of technology degree and 6 years of experience in Fire Alarm.
• Work overtime as directed by supervisor.
• Willingness to work on M.C. Dean, Inc. projects anywhere.
• Background check and random drug screening must be passed.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record to operate an M.C. Dean vehicle.
• Consistent punctuality, teamwork, and maintenance of a safe work environment.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills, researching online and using system manuals to resolve problems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA requirements, and industry standards for Fire Alarm system installation.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Certification: NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level III or pass the exam within 90 days of employment.

• Physical Abilities: lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds; relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance; work at heights up to 60 feet using scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders; walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine basis; possess good vision and hearing; communicate in English.
