Supermarket Refrigeration Installers – Place Services Inc. Base Pay Range
$23.00/hr - $42.00/hr
About the RolePlace Services Inc. (HQ in Canton, GA) needs experienced Supermarket Refrigeration Installers at locations including Nashville, Knoxville, Birmingham, Atlanta, Greenville, SC, and Charlotte. This high‑travel position requires mainly night work, with some day‑shift work.
Responsibilities- Execute the installation of refrigeration systems in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and local building codes
- Build and install pipe hangers, fit and braze copper pipe ensuring the proper installation of refrigerated cases in supermarkets
- Assemble, position, and mount refrigeration units, condensers, compressors, and other components
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards for refrigeration systems
- Follow proper disposal procedures for refrigerants and hazardous materials in accordance with environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation logs, service reports, and equipment specifications
- Document equipment inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks for future reference and analysis
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding job progress, issues, and solutions
- Interact professionally with supermarket management and staff to understand their refrigeration needs and address concerns
- Provide courteous and responsive customer service, resolving inquiries and requests in a timely manner
- Experience as a Lead, Pipe Fitter, Case Setter, Helper, or apprenticeship candidate is encouraged
- Excellent with details: you have an eye for precision and a strong focus on quality output
- Team player: you embody a "we over me" mentality and understand the importance of collective success
- Effective communicator: proficient in verbal and written communication, maintaining professionalism at all times
- Flexible: adaptable to changing business needs and capable of swiftly adjusting to new directions and priorities
- Continuous improvement: eager to learn, grow, and bring innovative ideas to improve company practices
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record per the fleet policy
- Physical ability to walk distances, bend, crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively and for extended periods
- Prompt and detailed communications
- Availability to work nights and/or Sundays
- Working knowledge of basic and commercial refrigeration (lead preferred)
- EPA certification preferred but not required
