Job Summary The Lead Substation Wireman is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation, wiring, maintenance , and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment in substations. This role serves as a crew leader, ensuring that all work comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. The Lead Wireman will coordinate and supervise the activities of wireman, apprentices, and contractors as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities Technical Accountabilities

• Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Manage material inventory, tools, and documentation required for substation wiring projects.

Commissioning and Validation

• Lead and supervise wireman crews in the installation and maintenance of substation wiring and equipment.
• Participate in all aspects of commissioning work for dedicated projects with electrical/mechanical crews.
• Install and terminate control, power, and communication cables for substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, control panels, and relays.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

• Participates in the process of identifying and resolving issues with electrical/mechanical systems and equipment during the commissioning process.
• Perform troubleshooting and testing of electrical circuits and components to ensure proper operation.

Documentation and Reporting
