Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Security Tech patrols the inside and outside of the building. Provides direct care to adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. Security Tech will inventory patients belonging and have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety on the unit. MHAs are responsible for understanding and using the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and avoiding seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

Qualifications- Patrols building and grounds on, in order to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure safety of doors and windows. Locks/unlocks doors per schedule.
- Inventories and secures patient’s belongings including valuables and hazards with appropriate documentation on admission.
- Escorts visitors, patients and staff as needed to maintain safety and security.
- Respond to all codes.
- Assist MHA staff with breaks.
- Assists and monitors patients with daily living activities.
- Assists and monitors patients at all times.
- Ensure supplies on the units.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
