Pillars We are Hiring For
  • Slack’s Product Surfaces team is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend to shape Slack’s overall desktop client experience—think design, systems, frameworks, and capabilities that shape the core experience that millions use every day. This team ensures that all the new and fundamental features of Slack work in harmony, with a focus on interoperability and cohesion. This person would collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers across the entire company, by creating and supporting surface areas and capabilities that guide feature development ’re looking for someone with a deep care of craft, quality, and ownership.
  • The Slackforce team is seeking Senior Frontend Engineers to lead development of high‑impact, cross‑platform experiences between Slack and Salesforce. We build the integration that brings Salesforce data and workflows directly into Slack. Our work is central to how enterprises collaborate: creating the connective tissue that makes two of the world’s most widely used platforms feel like one seamless system.
What You Will Be Doing
  • You’ll brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Backend, and Frontend Engineers on your team to conceptualize and build new features for our large (and growing!) user base.
  • You’ll produce high‑quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that have a significant impact on the business.
  • You’ll actively own team features or systems and define their long‑term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems.
  • You’ll assist our skilled support team and operations team in triaging and resolving production issues.
  • You’ll mentor other engineers and deeply review code.
  • You’ll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
What You Should Have
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and releasing consumer‑facing software.
  • Recent experience with JavaScript, Type Script, Redux, and React.
  • Expertise in building complex layouts with CSS and HTML.
  • A quality mindset with the ability to ship well‑tested code.
  • Experience with modern browser technologies.
  • Strong UX and design sensibilities, and a desire to sweat the small stuff.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience building and debugging complex systems in a collaborative team environment.
  • Problem‑solving ability around an unfamiliar codebase, using tools like Eclipse or Intelli

    J to understand a complex ecosystem.
  • Experience with Design Systems.
