Our APIs and web backend are built on PHP/Hack, our backend services are written in Java and Go, and we use Vitess as our storage engine. The architecture continuously evolves to meet growing challenges.

Typical Week – What You’ll Do

• Operate and enhance our large, highly-available database infrastructure, using MySQL, Vitess, and related technologies.
• Develop tools that enable self‑service and self‑management of our database infrastructure for other teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on their database storage needs and advise them throughout the development lifecycle.
• Write code that captures database performance, and build dashboards to provide actionable insight.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and work with operations to triage and resolve production issues.
• Support FedRAMP and DoD SRG activities.

Who You Are

• Have 5+ years of experience in data storage, core infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Proficient in Go, PHP/Hacklang, Python, Ruby, or Java.
• Write clear, maintainable code and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Operated at least one distributed system at scale (e.g., MySQL/Postgres, Kafka, Cassandra, Elastic Search).
• Deployed and operated server software on Linux, optimizing performance and troubleshooting issues.
• Experienced with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.
• Familiar with deployment automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

The base salary range for this role is $167,300‑$253,000 annually (or $200,800‑$276,100 annually in select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metro areas). This range represents base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or other compensation items.
