KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Engineer I to join our Tax Ignition Team. This is a hybrid work opportunity out of our Denver, CO or Montvale, NJ location.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product owners and data scientists to translate business needs into AI‑powered features and APIs.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for model inference (on Azure or similar).
  • Build and maintain client‑facing web apps in Angular + Type Script, Python or .NET Framework/C# backend services and APIs, secure SQL databases (T‑SQL, schema design, stored procedures).
  • Leverage Azure services (App Services, Functions, SQL Database, Dev Ops) for deployment, scaling and monitoring.
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services (such as Azure OpenAI, Custom Models Serving) into our front‑end and back‑end systems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of recent experience in software development and systems architecture.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering or related field is preferred;
    Master’s degree is desired.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering concepts such as microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization.
  • Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C#, Angular, SQL and Azure is preferred.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, scikit‑learn); strong communication and analytical skills.
