The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. We make text-to-speech accessible through our iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome Extension, and Web Apps, and have already reached over 50 million users worldwide.

As Speechify expands, our AI team seeks a Senior Backend Engineer. This role is central to ensuring our infrastructure scales efficiently, optimizing key product flows, and building resilient end‑to‑end systems. • Develop state‑of‑the‑art voice‑cloning and text‑to‑speech models.
• Deliver low‑latency, cost‑effective text‑to‑speech inference APIs.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services on GCP.
• Collaborate on product and architecture decisions with cross‑functional teams.
• Own deployment pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes for high‑availability.
• Champion best practices for model serving and continuous integration.

• Proven experience in backend development with Python.
• Direct experience with GCP and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Strong ability to ideate, implement, and prioritize tasks for impact.
• Experience with Docker, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments.
• Preferred:
  Deployment of NLP or TTS models to production.

US‑based salary range:
140,000–200,000 USD / year + bonus + stock, commensurate with experience.
