Staff Software Engineer – Verifone

Join Verifone's team as a Staff Software Engineer. You will manage our global device management system, working on on-device software, server-side, and database development. Your work will impact millions of payment terminals and hardware solutions.

Hybrid role in Atlanta, GA or New York City, NY.

• Lead development of on-device and server-side device management software.
• Collaborate with product and customer success teams; gather requirements, design, implement, and deploy.
• Lead technical transformation of technology stacks, optimize performance, testing, packaging, and deployment process.
• Provide production defect support, ensuring timely resolution.
• Own end‑to‑end lifecycle: testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews, automation, and documentation.

• Strong Java or Kotlin experience.
• Mastery of microservices, RESTful APIs, event‑driven architecture, scaling, and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL and No
  
  SQL databases.
• Experience with Docker and EKS.
• Architecture change advocacy, planning, and execution.
• Android, C#, and C++ are a plus.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years software development experience.
• Strong technical leadership.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Independent, collaborative in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and system curiosity.
