Overview

The Sr Software Engineer – T‑Cloud & Enterprise Vault works with a team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer’s requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available Dev Ops‑centric environments. The Sr Software Engineer – T‑Cloud & Enterprise Vault will utilize Automation tools and technologies for CICD, configuration management, etc.

for non‑prod environments, improve and protect the software and systems behind all of T‑Mobile’s IT services, including management of scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity, and deliver software faster, better, and cheaper. From designing & maintaining CICD Pipelines to building the next generation of T‑Mobile applications on cloud native platforms, the Sr Software Engineer – T‑Cloud & Enterprise Vault enables great customer experience and product innovation by continuous improvement of operational support.

This role offers a 3:2 hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office. This role may be based at one of the three T‑Mobile office locations below:
Atlanta, GA;
Overland Park, KS;
Bothell, WA

Job Responsibilities
  • Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations. Expected to supervise base and associate level engineers as needed.
  • Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows; is aware of current technology benefits. Expected to independently develop a full software stack, understand building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work. Independent study of current technology is expected. Interacts with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation.
  • Utilizes fluent knowledge and skill in emerging Dev Ops‑centric automation tools and technologies for CICD, configuration management, etc. for non‑prod environments.
  • Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.
  • Reviews existing designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives. Understands the creation of company IPR.
  • Performs environment management, automated server provisioning, pipeline configuration (VMs). Delivers software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of T‑Mobile’s services.
  • Creates, manages, and uses dashboard for continuous monitoring and health check of applications and the underlying infrastructure, and improves the quality of services using monitoring feedback for non‑production environment.
  • Writes basic documentation on how technology works; creates clear documentation for new code and systems used; documents system designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the manager level.
  • Contributes to future improvement of software delivery processes and operations, e.g., cloud enablement, use of microservices with containerization.
  • Mentors and guides other Systems Reliability Engineers and vendor resources as needed.
  • Contributes to new and existing technology options that support business goals; interacts with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Required)
  • 4–7 years of Technical Engineering experience (Required)
