Overview

Sr. Software Engineer - $130,000-$180,000 Base Salary
, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.

Location: Hybrid to San Diego, CA, Irvine, CA, Orlando, FL, or Atlanta, GA. Hybrid 3 days/week, Full time M-F 8am-5pm PST/EST. Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. Fair Square does not consider candidates requiring 1099 or C2C.

Fair Square is creating a new, state-of-the-art digital lending company. We will launch fully digital lending offering targeted to SMBs seeking an automated loan experience. The company will differentiate itself from competitors via superior technology, risk management, data science, a fully digital UI, and a customer-first experience that emphasizes ease of use, fairness and transparency in pricing, and recognition of customer loyalty.

In order to maximize speed-to-market and efficiency, Fair Square intends to leverage the availability of state-of-the art technology service providers and platforms. At the same time, Fair Square will build a robust set of modules around these platforms that will serve to differentiate our offerings in the marketplace and to its customers.

Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in JavaScript or Type Script and extensive experience in API development to join our growing but dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, ensuring seamless integration with front-end elements, and supporting the overall functionality of our products.

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using JavaScript to support the functionality of our applications.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.
• Integrate with third-party APIs to aggregate data from various sources.
• Implement server-side logic using JavaScript or Type Script, with a focus on Node.js, or Next.js.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, design, and third-party vendors, to prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality software.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for code and APIs, enabling seamless collaboration within the team.

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, Type Script, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React/Node.
• Strong problem-solving skills; capable of analyzing legacy code, understanding existing functionality, and implementing necessary changes.
• Experience with Jest unit testing.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• From ideation, developed and delivered major infrastructure projects to production.
• Experience with deploying software in AWS environment.
• Experience in the financial or lending industry is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with .NET is a plus.
