Delta Air Lines is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Crew Digital IT team, a pivotal part of Delta’s operations. This role offers the opportunity to enhance operational efficiency and deliver impactful solutions for our crew-facing technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and provide production support for critical enterprise applications.
  • Serve as Tech Lead for a cross-functional squad, coordinating with onsite and offshore teams.
  • Maintain and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems, ensuring reliable device enrollment, policy enforcement, and lifecycle management for crew member mobile devices and mobile applications.
  • Accurately estimate deliverable timelines and manage sprint commitments.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with product team members, leadership, and business partners to deliver high-quality software solutions.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
  • 5+ years of hands‑on development experience using SQL, PL/SQL, J2EE, Spring, JavaScript, HTML5, Angular, REST APIs, and Oracle; experience with No

    SQL is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead, guiding development teams and ensuring code quality.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS Cloud technologies and MDM platforms (e.g., Intune, Workspace ONE, Jamf).
  • Familiarity with design thinking, test‑driven development, and embedded security practices.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Open Shift), CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions), and Dev Ops tooling (Sonar Qube, Nexus).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for high‑priority issues and outages.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive alignment toward shared goals.
  • Commitment to safety, security, and diversity in the workplace.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS services including ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, and Dev Ops pipeline setup.
  • AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Experience developing software solutions within the airline industry is a plus.
  • Background in Dev Ops and automation, including code testing, building, and deployment.
