Our Digital Products and Software team builds connected experiences that help homeowners and technicians monitor, control, and support comfort systems from anywhere.

This role is for a senior mobile engineer on the Residential platform. While the title is mobile-focused, the engineer in this role must also be comfortable working across cloud-backed APIs, authentication flows, and app-to-service integration boundaries. The team needs someone who can build polished mobile experiences and also reason effectively about the backend systems that support them.##
** Role Summary
** We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Mobile Applications to help design, build, and improve customer-facing and field-facing mobile capabilities across the Residential platform. This engineer will lead hands-on development across iOS and Android, improve quality and reliability, and work effectively with backend, cloud, product, design, QA, and support teams during U.S. business hours.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role. The engineer in this position will be expected to own meaningful technical decisions, contribute directly to implementation, mentor less-experienced engineers, and help raise engineering standards across both mobile delivery and mobile-to-cloud integration work.##
** Key Responsibilities
*** Design, build, and maintain mobile features across Residential mobile applications on iOS and Android.
* Lead technical delivery for complex React Native and Type Script-based mobile work in a shared-codebase environment.
* Build and support integrations with REST APIs, GraphQL services, authentication systems, and backend-for-frontend or gateway layers.
* Contribute to backend-facing work when needed, including API contract design, auth/session behavior, payload handling, and service-integration troubleshooting.
* Improve app stability, performance, responsiveness, and release quality across iOS and Android.
* Help define mobile architecture, state management, secure local storage, sync behavior, and maintainable component patterns.
* Troubleshoot production issues that cross mobile, API, authentication, and cloud-service boundaries.
* Contribute to CI/CD, release-readiness, app-store delivery, and secure engineering practices.
* Partner with cloud engineering, product, UX, QA, and support teams to deliver high-quality end-to-end solutions.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.##
** Required Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Hard Science (Physical, Life, or Applied Science).
* 7+ years of software engineering experience.
* 4+ years building and shipping production mobile applications across both iOS and Android.
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with React Native and Type Script.
* 2+ years integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, or comparable service-based backends.
* 2+ years working with authentication, authorization, token lifecycle management, and secure session handling in production applications.
* 2+ years building, supporting, or troubleshooting backend or cloud services in AWS or a comparable cloud environment.
* 3+ years debugging issues across app, API, and cloud-service boundaries.
