Winixx Inc. is a New York-based technology holding company operating a portfolio of over 35 SaaS platforms across freight, fleet management, financial infrastructure, and market intelligence. We are now building WinixxOS — a distinctive, AOSP-based operating system powering a full lineup of consumer hardware including phones, tablets, smartwatches, POS devices, and gaming consoles. This is early-stage, high-ownership platform engineering — you would be shaping foundational decisions for a new OS, not implementing someone else's spec.

The Senior Platform UI Engineer owns the system UI layer of WinixxOS — building a genuinely distinctive interface from scratch, not a reskin of stock Android. You will shape window management, navigation, and the custom widget toolkit that defines how Winixx looks and feels across every device class.

• Design and build the system UI layer of WinixxOS, including window management and navigation model
• Build a custom widget toolkit distinct from stock Android views, used across phones, tablets, POS, consoles, and wearables
• Ensure UI consistency and adaptive layout behavior across all device classes and screen dimensions
• Collaborate with the API & Integration team to expose stable, declarative layout APIs to third-party developers
• Own system UI chrome behavior (status bar, navigation, gesture handling) with an eye toward OS-update resilience
• Work closely with the Winixx Studio team to ensure the visual layout designer renders accurately against the real widget toolkit
• Conduct performance profiling and optimization of the UI rendering pipeline
• Contribute to internal design system documentation for the platform UI

• 5+ years of platform or framework-level UI engineering experience, with direct AOSP or Android framework experience
• Experience building custom UI toolkits or significant deviations from stock Android UI
• Deep understanding of Android’s windowing, compositing, and rendering pipeline
• Familiarity with adaptive layout patterns that survive OS updates without requiring app rebuilds
• Strong systems thinking — comfortable designing for reuse across very different device classes
• Comfortable working in an early‑stage environment shaping foundational UI architecture
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

The compensation range reflected in this posting represents the minimum and maximum target range for this position. Individual pay within the posted range is determined by a candidate’s demonstrated experience, educational background, skill set, and geographic location. Final compensation is established at the time of offer and may fall anywhere within the stated range based on these factors.
