- Comfortable working in a high-paced environment with 48–54 team members in peak season.
- Desires to be a part of construction and renovation work with a future Master Plan with Architect Andrew Green, including greens, tees, fairways, irrigation, drainage infrastructure, and bunkers.
The 2nd Assistant Superintendent works with all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the golf course. The 2nd assistant superintendent is expected to observe golf course conditions and make suggestions. He or she should be comfortable speaking in front of large groups and can speak basic workplace Spanish. The 2nd Assistant Superintendent is expected to interact with members throughout the day and always carry himself or herself in a professional manner.
This person should have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, work well in a team environment, and be determined to succeed in the golf industry.
- Maintenance staff: 50-62 in peak season
- Equipment is a mix of John Deere and Toro.
- Rainbird irrigation central and controllers
- Typical work hours: 45–55 hours with regular scheduled time off in season.
- A consistent history of advancement for our assistant superintendents in the industry.
Throughout Ken Lee's 13-year tenure as Director of Golf Course Operations, he has had the pleasure of seeing several former Superintendents go on to achieve even greater success in larger roles. Those individuals include:

Before becoming Director, several former employees who worked under Ken Lee as a Superintendent have also advanced to higher positions.
Key responsibilities, skills, aptitude, and knowledge- This individual works closely with the superintendent to supervise, schedule, and train a large crew of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees. Incorporate and enforce safe work practices. Provide safety training for employees as directed.
- Apply fertilizers and plant protectants, including calibration sprayers and spreaders. Record all applications and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform irrigation scheduling and make basic irrigation repairs.
- Execute and manage golf course improvement projects.
- Perform basic mowing tasks and cultural practices when needed.
- The ideal candidate will be able to recognize problems and have an eye for the details.
- 4-year Turfgrass Management Degree
- The ability to obtain a GA pesticide license within 6 months of employment.
- 1-3 years of golf course maintenance experience
- $19.00 - $20.00/hr, dependent on experience
