Urban Recipe is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization focused on combating food insecurity in a manner that affirms dignity while providing support and a sense of community among its members and partners. For 34 years, Urban Recipe’s food cooperatives (Food Co-ops) have provided consistent food to people in need, doing so in an environment where recipients build relationships with one another and gain ownership by participating in the process.

We are seeking two Warehouse / Transportation Associates to join our team. These roles are central to the day-to-day logistics and functioning of our warehouse and distribution operations. Responsibilities include receiving, processing, storing, and transporting inventory to cooperative locations according to purchase orders and schedules. Duties also involve loading orders onto trucks, organizing stock, ensuring accurate labeling, and serving as a representative of Urban Recipe during deliveries and vendor interactions.

• Collect merchandise from the warehouse and safely transport materials to co‑op locations
• Receive, inspect, and document merchandise for delivery or return
• Maintain accurate records of inventory entering or exiting the warehouse
• Identify and report missing, lost, or damaged items in a timely manner
• Ensure products are safely stored, labeled, and organized for distribution
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain the quality, quantity, and variety of inventory
• Support the development and implementation of operational systems and best practices
• Complete weekly distribution trackers, logs, and administrative paperwork
• Serve as a representative of Urban Recipe at vendor sites and distribution locations
• Provide support for special projects and operational improvements as needed
• Wear and utilize all required PPE and follow safety protocols at all times

Other Duties

• Assist with general warehouse tasks to maintain an efficient and organized workspace
• Carry out administrative and logistical duties to support warehouse operations

• High School Diploma required;
  Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Forklift license preferred
• CDL license preferred

• Experience with a community‑based or nonprofit organization strongly preferred
• Experience with forklift operation and/or CDL driving
• Experience using Google Suite

• Required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level, up to 40 lbs daily
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking
• Required to wear and utilize all required PPE and safety equipment/tools
