Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on engineering support to maintain continuous production flow and quickly resolve technical issues impacting throughput, quality, scrap, or safety.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize braiding machines, thermal/curing ovens, micro‑molding equipment, and associated tools, fixtures, and support systems.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and process diagnostics to address downtime events and implement solutions that prevent recurrence.
- Keep SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and equipment settings up to date and aligned with best practices and regulatory expectations.
- Lead and manage CAPEX and OPEX projects, including equipment upgrades, capability enhancements, and process improvements.
- Track, analyze, and improve KPIs and OKRs related to productivity, equipment performance, quality, and operational cost.
- Partner with Quality and Validation teams to execute equipment qualifications, process validations, and controlled changes.
- Conduct structured problem‑solving activities (RCA, 5‑Whys, fishbone) and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support new equipment installations, configuration, validation, and integration into production.
- Train operators and technicians on new or updated equipment, procedures, and troubleshooting methods.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality system requirements, and good manufacturing practices.
- Strong hands‑on experience with braiding machines, including mechanical timing systems, tension control, yarn paths, and mandrel alignment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and optimizing industrial/curing ovens, including temperature uniformity, heating profiles, control systems, and calibration.
- Experience with precision molding or micro‑molding equipment, including tooling behavior, shot consistency, and troubleshooting common defects.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, tension gauges, and thermal probes.
- Familiarity with PLC‑controlled systems, basic I/O troubleshooting, sensors, actuators, and motion components.
- Experience optimizing equipment parameters, setups, and preventive maintenance routines to improve OEE and reliability.
- Solid foundation in process engineering methodologies, including DOE, capability studies, cycle‑time optimization, and waste reduction.
- Ability to lead equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and maintain high‑quality documentation under regulated industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating trends in downtime, scrap, and process variability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role; experience in medical device or other regulated industries preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to completion.
