Tax Analyst withan engineering/construction company. Summary
The Tax Analyst will be responsible for assisting with US and International tax provision, compliance, planning, and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities- Preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual worldwide tax provision, including effective tax rate, deferred taxes, specific tax adjustments (valuation allowances and reserves), tax exposures and disclosures for external and internal reporting purposes.
- Preparation and maintenance of tax work papers, including taxable income calculations and estimate/extension calculations for income tax compliance.
- Extracting and analyzing data from the Company’s ERP system and/or consolidation software to facilitate and support analysis, reconciliations and preparation of tax-related information, schedules, and disclosures.
- Assisting in maintaining trackers, information requests to controllers/outside parties, and proper documentation throughout all work papers.
- Calculations required for the international tax aspects of the quarterly and annual tax provision, as well as the US income tax return, including GILTI, BEAT, FDII, etc.
- Identifying improvement opportunities for income tax accounting and income tax compliance processes and procedures including but not limited to automation, worldwide data collection, and integration with other tax and finance department processes (such as compliance and estimated payment processes).
- Conducting tax research on various tax matters.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or working towards obtaining certification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of public accounting or related industry, or a combination of the two.
- General knowledge of tax accounting principles and corporate income and franchise taxes.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate information across several parties, and manage competing priorities to meet both statutory and internal deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with confidence on new or complex tasks.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and application software skills. Previous experience with Alteryx, One Source Tax Provision, Dataflow, HFM, and/or Microsoft Access is a plus.
