The salary range for this position is $91,727.00 to $. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

The Atlantic‑Cape May Vicinage is seeking a pro‑active manager with exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and organizational awareness to serve as an Ombudsperson for court users and act as community liaison to the public. The selected individual will oversee the Court User Resource Center and the supervision of employees. The designee will be responsible for the development and management of programs designed to promote public trust in the courts and enhance customer service, provide procedural assistance to self‑represented litigants (pro se litigants), educate the public regarding programs and services, and facilitate the resolution of complaints.
Traveling within the multi-county Vicinage I is required.
REMOTE WORKThe Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of duties:- Assisting court users, including pro se litigants, by explaining court operations, processes, and procedures and providing resource materials.
- Responding to complaints by providing information, assistance, or guidance and, as appropriate, referring the court user to an appropriate court division or external resource for resolution.
- Serving as the vicinage information and customer service liaison with the public.
- Developing cooperative working relationships with vicinage management and staff to ensure overall quality customer service.
- Developing and coordinating public information initiatives such as the vicinage court information webinar series, court tours, community outreach seminars and clinics.
- Oversight of website updates, vicinage newsletter and media updates.
- Chair the vicinage internal community outreach committee and manage it’s One Judge‑One School civics education program.
- Coordinate with vicinage Trial Court Services for planning and facilitation of community expungement seminars.
- Planning, implementing, and participating in special projects and programs.
- Overseeing the public reception service areas and its information services and materials.
- Maintaining a resource library including lists of state and local social service agencies and lawyer referral services for the use of court customers.
- Documenting complaints and monitoring resolutions.
- Maintaining and analyzing statistics, such as court user contacts and customer satisfaction survey results and preparing all required reports.
