JOB GOAL:
The Teacher Coordinator of School Improvement assist the district in accomplishing educational and non-academic goals through promoting student engagement, academic achievement, recruitment and retention, improving attendance, increasing graduation rate and fostering a positive, inclusive school climate by implementing the approved school improvement initiatives. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the role of the Teacher Coordinator contributes to increasing overall school performance by working closely with Principals, the Attendance Officer, teaching and educational services personnel to track student progress and ensure they are on pace for graduation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Valid New Jersey Department of Education teaching certificate.

* Minimum of five (5) years of excellent teaching experience.

* Holds and maintains a valid New Jersey driver's license.

* Experience working in a multicultural urban environment.

* Exhibits a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and the interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and legal entities.

* Ability to work as team member and establish and maintain effective working relationships.

* Knowledge of school improvement programs and initiatives.

* Knowledge of state student attendance laws, child welfare regulations and compulsory education laws and regulations.

* The capability to identify root causes of chronic absenteeism and create solutions.

* Proficient in a variety of current technologies and Microsoft office (i.e.

-Word, Excel, etc.) and Google platforms.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, in the English language.

* Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
