Quality Control Supervisor; QCS

The Field Environmental Sampling Manager is an full-time on-site position. The successful candidate reports to the Amentum Project Geologist/Hydrogeologist.

• A bachelor’s degree in an environmentally related field is required. Common majors include environmental science, geology, biology, chemistry, or engineering.

• One year of field experience in environmental sampling.
• Experience should include:
  • Soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air sampling.
  • Chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Field QA/QC protocols.
  • Oversight of field teams and subcontractors.

• Demonstrated proficiency in:
  • EPA-approved sampling methods.
  • Field instrumentation (e.g., water-quality meters, PID/FID, etc.).
  • Decontamination procedures.
  • Sample preservation and transportation.

• Familiarity with EPA Field Sampling Quality Control procedures and SOPS.
• Ability to implement and document QA/QC measures in accordance with EPA guidelines.

• Understanding of:
  • CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act.
  • State-specific environmental regulations.
  • Sampling Plans (SAPs), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and Health & Safety Plans (HASPs).

• Ability to lead field crews, coordinate logistics, and manage subcontractors.
• Strong communication skills for reporting and client interaction.
• Competence in budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation.

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions and lift equipment.
