Looking for a Computer Scientist, Level III, to help provide technical support to the FAA to conduct Enterprise System Safety and Enterprise Information Systems Security (EISS) activates and initiatives. The candidate will be supporting Engineer Services as required in the planning, analysis, and development of the EISS and safety capabilities which includes the associated system engineering analysis and products.

Primary job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provides assessments regarding current, state-of-the-art and industrial trends in the computer field.
• Designs and implements computer algorithms, and reviews existing legacy code systems considering current "best business " practices of computer science.
• Must have knowledge of computer languages.

Candidates that possess the following skills and experience will be more favorable to the FAA:

• FAA project support experience, FAA system engineering support
• 10-15 years of broad IT experience
• Use of languages such as, Java, JavaScript, Perl, C++, C#, VB, J2EE, JSP, ASP, Oracle , XML, HTML, SQL
• Experience with the following or similar tools/technologies:
• Nagios XI, Log Rhythm
• Veeam Backup and Replication, Dell Lite Speed and Oracle RMAN
• CA Identity Manager, Site Minder
• Apache/Tomcat Server, VMware, MS Exchange/Share Point
• Systems engineering background
• Aviation/National Airspace System (NAS) knowledge
• Acquisition Management System (AMS) knowledge
• Safety Management System (SMS) knowledge (i.e., Safety Risk Management (SRM), Safety Assurance, Safety Policy, Safety Communication)
• FAA institutional knowledge
• Computer/network/software background
• Safety and systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Active Risk Manager (ARM), fault trees, bow tie)
• SRM panel/safety training experience
• Strong oral/written communication
• Experience managing or leading large integration and system development projects:
• Providing engineering, security, system analysis, supporting software integration, architecture, supports software, hardware, and licensing acquisitions
• Providing applications/systems management support, implementing/integrating systems, application security engineering, applications/systems architecture, database administration, and systems programming
• Evaluates existing applications/systems to determine the technical changes and challenges, schedules projects and resources, monitors timelines, and sets and implements policies and corrective actions, develop POA&Ms related to system and application quality and security standards
• Experience communicating and working with a variety of FAA stakeholders such as, system owners, engineers, administrators, leadership to meet customer requirements

Job Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
• At least 10-15 years of experience related to IT support services including designing and developing new products/solutions and using innovative techniques to solve computing problems.

Applying extensive knowledge, research, skills, working with other IT professionals, programmers, to develop and design new computer technology to meet the needs of the client.

• 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.
• A Master's Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience.
• PhD in related field may be substituted for Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience
