Job Title: Accounting/Finance Analyst 3 / Supervising Accounting/Finance Analyst

Salary: $95,955.39

Responsibilities

Description of Essential Duties:

  • Under general supervision of the Manager of Licensing and Financial Evaluation, supervises and/or undertakes statutory, regulatory, operational and administrative functions of financial evaluation.
  • Supervises and/or performs preparation of highly technical analyses and reports evaluating financial condition, operating performance and financial projections of casino licensees and related companies, as well as economic conditions under the Casino Control Act (Sections 82e, 84, 87).
  • Supervises and/or performs certification and review of casino parking fee revenue in accordance with Section 173.5 of the Act.
  • Supervises and/or performs evaluation, summarization, and maintenance of financial information; facilitates Commission’s financial reporting responsibilities; supervises and/or performs reviews of casino parking fee revenue.
  • Researches complex economic/financial matters of major significance and provides expert analyses, technical advice, recommendations, and opinions to support agency decision‑making and development of public policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance, including or supplemented by a minimum of 21 credit hours in accounting, statistics, finance, or economics.
  • Note: No education substitution. Degrees and/or transcripts are required of candidates selected for interviews and, if issued by a college or university outside the United States, must include an evaluation for accreditation by a reputable evaluation service acceptable to the Commission at the applicant’s expense.
  • Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of professional accounting, financial analysis or auditing experience, one year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Proficiency in spreadsheet and word‑processing applications; proficiency in other software applications and Internet research may be required. CPA preferred.
  • Substitution: Possession of a valid Certified Public Accountant license issued by the NJ State Board of Accountancy and/or a master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration may be substituted for one year of the required non‑supervisory experience.
