Position SummaryThe Banquet Houseman is responsible for setting up the Banquet Room with the necessary non-food related equipment that is required for the event. The Banquet Houseman must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business needs.
This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00.

About The VenueThe Atlantic City Convention Center & Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is a multi-purpose facility located on the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk and features the 141,000-square-foot main arena with a capacity of 14,770 seats as well as the 23,100-square-foot Adrian Phillips Theater with a capacity of 3,200. Constructed in 1929 as the country’s original convention center, Boardwalk Hall has dazzled guests and residents of Atlantic City.
Responsibilities- Responsible for providing set up and removal of the correct linens for the round tables per event.
- Responsible to set up and break down of the Banquet Food tables per function, including but not limited to Buffet lines, Pop Corn machines, etc.
- Responsible for the water cooler service. Placing of the appropriate machine at the specified locations per event; along with the necessary equipment.
- Responsible to monitor refills of water cooler machine and document any refills.
- Responsible for all Head Water Table service for all meeting rooms and podiums per an event by event basis.
- Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
