Position: Systems Engineer- IT Administration- Full Time

About the Role

The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing the reliability, functionality and security of server hardware (physical and virtual), server and workstation OS maintenance and deployment, systems access controls, and corporate IT services

Position Responsibilities
  • Providing administrative support for all Windows and Linux-based servers and as needed.
  • Provide second level support to internal IT groups including technicians and Applications teams
  • Work with other Technicians, Administrators and Engineers to support the users at all sites.
  • Proactively pursue customer service issues and resolve them expediently
  • Support of system snapshot and systems/applications/data backup infrastructure
  • Create/Manage user accounts, groups and Active Directory items.
  • Manage Server and Network Profiles in UCS
  • Fiber Channel Zoning, SAN configuration, LUN mapping
  • SCCM and WSUS
  • Maintaining web site security and updates
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to systems acquisition, use, patching, support, and backup
  • Establishes and maintains system users and permissions, user environment (including systems deployment), and file directories
  • Develops and communicates standards for use and operations
  • Researches and evaluates new technologies
  • Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures
  • Conducts analyses and generates reports on systems state
  • Ability to delegate and make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints
  • Manages the work of external resources who are brought to Ocean Casino Resort Atlantic City to supplement staff including web development resources
  • Reports task and milestone progress to the IT Project Manager assigned
Essential Functions
  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise and kitchen environments
  • Exposure to stressful situations related to servicing clients in a high pressure and fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
  • Exceptional proficiency in Active Directory and Windows Systems Management/Deployment including Group Policy and SCCM experience
  • Exceptional proficiency in Power Shell scripting including PSRemote for local and cloud resources
  • Exceptional proficiency in SCCM management including unattended install scripting/packaging
  • Very strong understanding of the TCP/IP network stack and general computer hardware, Windows operating systems and software needed to support other IT teams
  • Five plus years related experience administrating and managing VMWare, Nutanix and Hyper

    V virtualization platforms
  • Experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure management
  • Experience with storage technologies including EMC SAN;
    Net App and Cisco Hyper Flex converged storage
  • Comm Vault backup solution skills
  • Hands‑on experience with configuration, setup, and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux servers
  • Azure Active Directory and Office 365 experience
  • Experience with centrally‑managed server and endpoint antivirus
  • Microsoft, Cisco and/or VMWare certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Casino, Hospitality and Financial application experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, critical thinking and decision‑making skills
  • Well‑developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete casino employee registration with the New Jersey Casino Control Commission or New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, as applicable, and abide by the requirements imposed by New Jersey Casino Control Act and regulations.

  • Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted $81,400 to $105,800 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
