Advanced Practice Provider - Lead APP ICU [Mainland]
Position SummaryThe Advanced Practice Nurse provides high quality, cost‑effective patient care that supports established specialty practice objectives and strategic organizational goals. The nurse establishes preventive measures, diagnoses and treats illnesses and disorders in a competent manner consistent with medical practice and joint protocols set with the collaborating physician. This position ensures patient care is delivered cost‑effectively, managing resources optimally. By demonstrating compassion and respect for each individual, the nurse delivers care that meets customer expectations.
Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with physician leaders, administration, and staff to improve clinical outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts organization‑wide and serve as a member of divisional and departmental committees.
- Maintain current technical knowledge and pursue educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency.
- Contribute to the organization’s educational programs and teaching activities.
- Participate in the peer review process to enhance clinical practice, demonstrating sound judgment and respect for colleagues.
- Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school (or grandfathered by NJ Law).
- Current RN licensure in the State of New Jersey and certification by the State Board of Nursing.
- Specialty certification required and granted privileges from Atlantic City Medical Center medical staff (e.g., NRNNP,C or RNCNS,C registry unencumbered, BLSHCP required).
- Minimum 2 years experience in the specialty field as an RN in New Jersey.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; skill required within 30–60 days.
Demonstrates the ability to perform department‑specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work EnvironmentPotential exposure to hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including infectious disease, hazardous substances, blood‑borne pathogens and potential injury. Physical demands include stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment, excessive standing and walking, and lifting approximately 25–30 lbs frequently. Essential functions are listed in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Reporting RelationshipCollaboration with the physician; reports to the appropriate administrator and nursing or departmental leadership.
