Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue and developing new business opportunities for Island Waterpark s position leads sales efforts across group events, corporate outings, social celebrations, school and youth groups, travel and tourism partners, and other qualified market segments.
The Sales Manager will build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively generate new business, manage the sales pipeline from prospecting through conversion, and work closely with internal departments to ensure a seamless guest experience from initial inquiry through event completion.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality and entertainment environment and understands the importance of exceptional service, follow-through, and revenue performance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed assigned revenue and booking goals.
- Identify, prospect, and cultivate new business opportunities within local, regional, corporate, group, social, educational, and tourism markets.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, accounts, meeting planners, travel partners, and community organizations.
- Conduct sales calls, presentations, property tours, client meetings, and site visits.
- Respond promptly and professionally to sales inquiries and follow up consistently to convert leads into confirmed business.
- Manage the sales pipeline, including prospecting, proposals, contracts, deposits, follow-up, and final conversion.
- Create customized proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value and offerings of Island Waterpark at Showboat.
- Sell group packages, private events, celebrations, corporate outings, meetings, buyouts, and other revenue-generating opportunities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Events, Food & Beverage, Marketing, Finance, Guest Services, and other departments to ensure accurate communication and successful execution of booked business.
- Maintain accurate client and sales information within the designated CRM or sales tracking systems.
- Monitor sales activity, conversion rates, revenue production, and future booking opportunities.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates for leadership.
- Participate in networking events, trade shows, community events, sales missions, and other business-development activities.
- Develop partnerships with local businesses, schools, organizations, hotels, tourism agencies, and other strategic accounts.
- Stay informed about Island Waterpark offerings, seasonal promotions, pricing, packages, policies, and competitive market conditions.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, repeat business, and account development.
- Ensure all sales commitments are clearly communicated and accurately documented prior to the event.
- Provide exceptional customer service and act as a professional ambassador for Island Waterpark and Showboat.
- Address client concerns promptly and coordinate appropriate solutions with internal teams.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Revenue & Sales Expectations
The Sales Manager is expected to take an active, hands-on approach to business development and revenue generation. Success in this position will be measured through:
- Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in hospitality, entertainment, attractions, events, tourism, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using CRM systems, sales software, Microsoft Office, and other standard business technology.
- Professional demeanor and strong relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience may be considered.
