Financial Controller

Henningsen Const. in Atlantic, Iowa is looking to hire a Controller/Office Manager to manage the overall accounting operation of the company including the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, training and motivation of staff; implementation of all accounting policies and procedures, budget and job cost control.

• Supervise the Accounting Dept. including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
• Prepare subcontractor invoices for DOT jobs and review DOT payments.
• Work with General Managers to complete work in progress reports.
• Implement and maintain compliance with GAP accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage the daily reporting of cash. Complete applications for bank and equipment loans.
• Manage and control company insurance policies.
• Administer the 401K plan and all other company benefit plans.
• Oversee all company data processing and computer programs.
• Keep accounting software updated.
• Assist the President with the annual operating budget.
• Reconcile all general ledger accounts, prepaid insurance, expenses, depreciation, real estate taxes and equipment.
• Prepare information for the yearly audit and contractor statements.

• Five years’ experience in a managerial accounting position.
• Strong Understanding of tax codes and laws.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
