Job Description

TS Bank is seeking to hire a Universal Banker position for our location in Atlantic, Iowa.

Preferred education:

high school diploma or GED required. Additional post‑high school education and/or training is preferred. One year of work experience in a financial institution, cash handling, and prior sales experience is a plus.

Location:

Atlantic, Iowa. Starting Pay: $18.00/hr.

Experience & Skills
  • Comply with all banking and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to and from work and other work‑related events.
  • Operate telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Advanced PC knowledge beneficial.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the public. Possess good communication skills. Perform basic arithmetic and compute rates, ratios, and percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Work outside normal business hours, including weekends and overnight travel, when required to meet deadlines and attend meetings or training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Protect TS Banking Group’s financial interests and reputation by complying with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist with daily operating activities such as ABM servicing, and opening and closing procedures.
  • Contribute to sales goals by identifying and fulfilling simple sales opportunities to increase sales and revenue.
  • Cross‑sell bank products to new and existing customers.
  • Direct sales opportunities to the appropriate sales officer.
  • Ensure all activities comply with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Foster a relationship of mutual trust and confidence with clients and team members.
  • Greet and interact with customers as they enter the branch.
  • Meet clients’ day‑to‑day transactional needs and resolve their service and maintenance inquiries.
  • Promote bank products.
  • Open day‑to‑day accounts, fulfill pre‑approved credit opportunities, and work closely with team members to ensure an optimal experience for clients.
  • Interact with the local market to gain new clients and expand relationships with existing clients.
  • Provide world‑of‑work (WoW) client service through quality conversations, efficient and accurate processing of client transactions, and adherence to the Branch Service Level Agreement.
  • Sell, open, and maintain all personal banking products and services to new and existing clients, highlighting features and benefits of bank products and cross‑selling referrals to other TS Banking Group areas, including commercial and small business lending and wealth management and trust.
  • Meet or exceed all established sales goals and contribute to branch deposit growth; track and log all interactions in the bank’s CRM system; provide feedback at weekly sales huddles; complete 2.2.2 follow‑up; participate in the Personal Banking Incentive Program after 90‑day onboarding.
  • Maintain a system of follow‑up mail and telephone communication several times a year with new and existing clients to generate additional business.
  • Answer client questions and handle objections during the sales process; diplomatically handle dissatisfied clients by providing exceptional client service.
  • Perform account opening and transactional processes to deliver efficient, accurate, and professional service that defines exceptional client service and reputation.
  • Proficient in personal account opening, maintenance, and closing, including checking, savings, and safe deposit boxes. Adhere to the lean account opening process.
  • Check ordering; check‑cashing procedures; issue cashier’s checks; process wire transfers; account maintenance; transfer/sweeps; online banking and mobile banking maintenance; stop payments; process holds and ACH/debit card disputes.
  • Proficient in BSA requirements, including CTR transactions, monetary instrument log, and detecting/reporting suspicious or unusual activity.
