The Production Line Supervisor directly oversees all daily manufacturing operations on the line to achieve target schedules, product quality, and strict safety compliance. Reporting to the Line Operations Manager, this role leads, coaches, and manages line personnel while collaborating across departments to minimize downtime and optimize workflow. The Supervisor enforces food safety regulations and workplace standards, resolves on-floor processing issues, performs basic machine adjustments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and boost plant productivity.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate line staff across processing, packaging, testing, and grading to meet operational targets.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, WHMIS, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols to maintain a safe, audit-ready facility.
- Perform corrective machine adjustments, ensure immediate work areas remain clean, and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Train staff on job duties, safety protocols, and company policies; recommend personnel actions including hiring, performance reviews, and promotions.
- Requisition operational supplies, log performance metrics, and prepare clear daily production reports.
- Collaborate across departments to reduce waste, optimize workflow, and embed 5S methodologies into daily routines.
- On-site in a food processing manufacturing environment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Regular exposure to cold environments.
- Supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a requirement.
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of the 5 S's would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance would be considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP and LOTO.
