Registered Nurse - Med Surg, Nights — Atlantic, IA | Start 08/17/2026 | 13 weeks | $2,356-$2,507 per week | Guaranteed 36 hours | Acute-care setting with obstetric scope

This travel assignment centers on obstetric care with labor & delivery, postpartum, and recovery, with occasional float to the med‑surg floor when obstetric patients are not present. The role includes night shifts, with every third weekend rotation, in a high-volume, fast‑paced inpatient environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for obstetric and med‑surg patients on assigned units, including labor & delivery, postpartum, and recovery.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications and perform routine postpartum assessments and newborn care as appropriate.
  • Assist with labor, delivery, and recovery procedures; support patient education for prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care.
  • Float to the med‑surg floor when obstetric patients are not available; collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Document care activities, updates, and patient responses in the electronic health record; participate in care planning and discharge readiness.
Requirements
  • Active RN license in Iowa or multi‑state licensure valid for practice in the assignment location.
  • OB‑focused clinical experience (labor & delivery, postpartum, recovery) preferred; willingness to train and adapt to obstetric workflows.
  • Ability to float to med‑surg units as needed and to work nights with weekend rotation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and bedside assessment skills.
  • Current BLS certification required; additional obstetric‑focused credentials are a plus.
