Payroll Clerk
This position will be located at our Huntsville Business Office. The Payroll Clerk is responsible for supporting payroll operations within the Deltek Costpoint accounting system and reports to the Accounting Manager. This position is fully onsite.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with processing payroll for multiple companies in Costpoint.
- Set up new employees.
- Verify employee data is accurate, make changes to payroll data and deductions when necessary.
- Assist with tax with holdings and payments.
- Provide support for year-end payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Keep supervisor informed of non-routine issues and refers matters outside assigned scope of authority to appropriate individuals.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality of data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma
- 1-2 years of applicable experience
- Experience with payroll processing
- Strong Microsoft Office experience and skills with Excel reporting
- Must be proficient and accurate in operating a 10-Key calculator and in accurately and efficiently typing on a computer keyboard.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must be able to get along well with all levels of the organization and excel in a team oriented environment.
- Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours.
- Demonstrated efficiency in English, spelling, punctuation, and writing skills.
- Experience using the Deltek Costpoint Accounting System
- Multi-company accounting experience (preferred)
