VOLVO CERTIFIED MASTER TECH – ALABAMA

Core Responsibilities
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize Volvo-specific software (VIDA) and specialized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot intricate mechanical and electronic system failures.
  • Complex Repairs: Perform major repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
  • Technical Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior technicians and providing guidance on difficult "first-time fix" issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and road tests to verify that all service and maintenance work meets dealership and manufacturer safety protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain precise records of work performed, including labor hours, parts used, and diagnostic findings for warranty and customer transparency.
Required Qualifications
  • Certifications: Completion of the Volvo Master Technician certification path and all eight core ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications (A1‑A8).
  • Experience: 5+ years of automotive service experience, with a heavy emphasis on luxury European brands or direct Volvo dealership history.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in high‑voltage hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) systems, as well as advanced driver‑assist system (ADAS).
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate degree in Automotive Technology highly preferred.
  • Tools: Must possess and maintain a professional‑grade inventory of personal hand and power tools.
