Kane Selection Ltd is representing a top-performing John Deere Construction and Forestry dealer with a strong footprint across its territory. The business is seeking a Used Equipment Manager to take full ownership of the used equipment operation across the company.
This is a senior, individual-contributor role based at the Mobile corporate location. The position sits alongside branch and sales leadership and acts as a commercial resource to the new equipment sales team. The role is steady-paced, relationship-driven, and long-term in nature, with limited travel and high autonomy.
About the OpportunityThis role owns the used equipment lifecycle across a multi-location dealer business. The successful candidate will:
- Own the full P&L for used equipment across the business
- Set and control values on all incoming trade-ins
- Manage used equipment inventory levels, aging, and disposition strategy
- Drive consistent and disciplined equipment turn
- Act as the valuation authority for new equipment sales
- Support front-end deal profitability through effective trade strategy
- Source used equipment for resale opportunities where appropriate
- Manage disposition through dealer channels, direct sales, and auctions
- Develop and maintain auction relationships
- Work closely with branch leadership, sales management, and corporate leadership
- Operate independently with minimal oversight once established
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience managing used equipment within a dealer, broker, or fleet environment
- Strong trade evaluation and valuation expertise
- Understanding of auctions and secondary market channels
- A disciplined, commercially minded approach to inventory and risk
- Comfort operating in a relationship-led, lower-bureaucracy business culture
- A steady, long-term mindset rather than a change-agent profile
