Quarry Maintenance Mechanic- Atmore, AL

APAC-AL, Inc., part of CRH's South Central Division, is a leading supplier of quality asphalt and construction services in the southeastern U.S. with operations in Alabama.

This is a skilled position involving the maintenance and operation of company conveyors and crushing equipment. Quarry experience is required.

• Thorough mechanical knowledge of crusher and related equipment.
• Analyze malfunctions and repair or rebuild conveyors and crushing equipment.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
• Weld broken parts and structural members using stick welding processes.

To perform this job, candidates must be able to satisfy each essential duty. The following abilities are required:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations—add, subtract, multiply, and divide—in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Currently valid welding certifications are required.

The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects weighing between 10 and 30 lbs. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
