Electrician Level 1

West Fraser, a leading integrated wood products company in North America, is seeking a skilled Electrician Level 1 to join our dynamic engineering team. This position is critical in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our production facilities, which produce a variety of wood products including lumber, plywood, and MDF. The successful candidate will be integral to maintaining our company's reputation for quality and commitment to sustainability and community support.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical maintenance on various manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functioning.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and industrial environments, including PLC and DCS systems.
• Install new electrical systems and equipment according to industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in every task performed.
• Regularly inspect equipment and systems to ensure alignment with operational and safety standards.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, and other control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to handle various tools and equipment necessary for electrical repairs and installations.
